Reggae/Dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy has shed light on how his collaboration with Angelique Kidjo came about.
In a recent interview on Citi 97.3 FM’s Breakfast Show, he revealed that GUBA’s Dentaa Amoateng who is also a well-known Ghanaian entrepreneur and advocate for African talent, played a pivotal role in connecting him with Grammy-winning singer, Angelique Kidjo.
According to the BHIM Nation president, it was during a program organized by Dentaa that Stonebwoy had the opportunity to meet Angelique Kidjo, and from there, the idea of a collaboration took shape.
“I had already wanted to feature her (Angelique Kidjo) but I came into contact with her through Dentaa. There was a program here and Dentaa brought her, so immediately I saw her. I tapped Dentaa and told her I wanted to feature her [Angelique Kidjoe] then she linked her to me,” he narrated
Since the release of Stonebwoy’s highly anticipated 5th Dimension album, “Manodzi”, his single with Angelique Kidjo in particular, has captured the hearts of music lovers and fans alike.
The track, featured as the 17th song on the album, showcases the musical prowess of Stonebwoy alongside the iconic African artist Angelique Kidjo.
With its captivating melodies and powerful lyrics, “Manodzi” has quickly become a fan favorite, solidifying Stonebwoy’s reputation as a versatile and globally recognized artist.
The inclusion of Angelique Kidjo on “Manodzi” adds an extra layer of depth and significance to the song.
Angelique Kidjo, according to Stonebwoy was very helpful as she brought her rich vocals and distinctive style to the collaboration, creating a powerful synergy with Stonebwoy.
“When I discussed the collaboration with her (Angelique Kidjo), she never complained. When she went back, she sent me her verse and that was how the song was done,” he further posited
